<p>The 79-year-old former member of the Rolling Stones said that reading keeps him “sane” as opposed to listening to the radio or attempting to comply with the current iteration of “political correctness,” according to Female First UK.</p>
<p>He continued by calling cell phones a “drug” that everyone is “stuck” on. He replied, “Until it washes away and we drown in our own c***, we’re left with a strange old world.”</p>
<p>Now that he has quit using narcotics and only sometimes consumes alcohol, he said, “I always have a book on the go. It helps me stay calm.And it’s possible I hide there, you know. I have to accept the fact that I’m not suited for the life of a pop star, but, quite honestly, it can be a pain in the ass at times.So, sometimes throughout the day, I just withdraw into my books.</p>
<p>I don’t want to start whining about mainstream music, he said, according to The Daily Telegraph. It’s been garbage forever. That is, after all, the whole idea. Because they try to make it as simple and inexpensive as possible, it always sounds the same and has very little feel. I like listening to music created by musicians. That is to say, I do not like listening to elevator music, also known as plastic synthesised music, which is now the norm.</p>
<p>“I don’t really like to hear people yelling at me and telling me it’s music or rap,” he said of rap. I don’t have to leave my home to get plenty of it.</p>
<p>According to Female First UK, The Rolling Stones have taken notice of so-called wokery since in 2021 they stated they will stop performing their 1971 track “Brown Sugar” after it received negative internet reviews for their perspective on rape and slavery.</p>
<p>However, Keith said, “We’re all imprisoned in that (wokery) — music or not. There are certain things you just cannot do any more due to public fear. They are afraid of saying anything inappropriate. They are worried about offending someone. People may be made to achieve wonderful things by fear.</p>
