<p>Star cricketer from Afghanistan Rashid Khan has promised to donate all of his match money from the ICC ODI Cricket World Cup 2023 being played in India to the cause of the earthquake victims in his country.</p>

<p>The all-rounder, who is reputed to be the highest-paid player in his country and has in some ways started a revolution there, has said he also intends to start a fundraising effort to help people impacted by the tragedy.</p>
<p>He posted on Instagram and X, saying, “I learned with great sadness about the tragic consequences of the earthquake that struck the western provinces of Afghanistan (Herat, Farah, and Badghis).”</p>
<p>“I’m giving all of my #CWC23 match costs to those in need. We’ll be starting a fundraising effort soon to ask for donations from anyone who can help those in need.</p>
<p>At the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala on Saturday, Afghanistan’s World Cup campaign in India got off to a bad start as they were defeated by Bangladesh.</p>
<p>After choosing to bowl first after winning the toss, the Bangla Tigers reduced Afghanistan to only 156 runs in 37.2 overs, with Mehidy Hasan and Shakib Al Hasan both taking three wickets.</p>
<p>Rahmanullah Gurbaz led the Afghan team in scoring with 47 runs off 62 deliveries, while Azmathullah Omarzai added 22 runs to the total.</p>
<p>With 59 runs, Najmul Hossain Shanto reached an undefeated half-century, while Meidy also reached fifty with his 57-run innings.</p>
<p>The next day, October 10, Bangladesh will face England, and on October 11, Afghanistan will play India in New Delhi.</p>
