The firm has been interacting with its client base to learn more about their movie-watching habits, according to Gautam Dutta, co-CEO of PVR INOX Ltd.

There is a sense among consumers that we like going to the movies and adore the theater experience. But we can’t get everything. We continually provide slots for event movies and movies that can be seen on TV, iPads, and mobile devices. Therefore, “Pathaan,” “Jawan,” “Salaar,” and “Leo” are some of the major motion pictures in their eyes. They also don’t mind waiting a bit longer for certain movies that they really want to see. Therefore, when we inquired and said, “Why can’t you come to a cinema hall every week?,” they refused. They said that it becomes pricey,” Dutta told PTI.

According to Dutta, such a tendency is unhealthy for the movie business, particularly for movies with medium and low budgets.

“The event movies are becoming larger and grander. Smaller medium movies are being pushed out. Because we have close to 13 to 16 films that are released every week, we truly needed to create a product that worked with consumer emotion to attract people back into the theater, much more, and which would promote great smaller pictures, he said.

PVR INOX has reduced the pricing of food and drinks by 40% in order to allay customer concerns about such items.

The movie theater recently started selling meal combinations for Rs 99 between 9 am and 6 pm on Monday through Thursday, while offering bottomless popcorn with “unlimited refills” on the weekends.

Another action that will have an effect is the idea for cinema subscriptions, according to Dutta.

The truth is that we intended to effectively irrigate the market and attract clients that visited us only once, twice, or three times each month… More movies will be seen. There will be more movies made. There will be a bigger crowd. And over time, you’ll establish this habit of patrons returning to the theater. Therefore, it’s more than simply a price promotion; it’s a momentum changer. The target market of the movie subscription offer was also deciphered by Dutta, who said that “students, housewives, and senior citizens” were the intended beneficiaries.

It’s not for those with plenty of money but little free time. The roles are reversed. My target market is time-rich but cash-poor people, he remarked.

The business claims that customers may purchase ‘PVR INOX Passport’ through the movie theater chain’s app or website for a minimum subscription duration of three months.

“Users must choose a Passport voucher as a payment method at transaction checkout in order to redeem. When purchasing several tickets, one ticket may be redeemed with a Passport voucher, and the other tickets can be purchased using any other standard form of payment.

“The Passport is a non-transferrable subscription, and will have to be availed by a single user, who will have to show a Government identity proof at the time of checking in to the cinema,” the business said.
