JioCinema sets new records for IPL 2023 viewing during the GT vs. CSK Playoff Match

The CSK vs. GT game on Tuesday attracted the most concurrent views for IPL 2023 on JioCinema. The playoff game's last innings had 2.5 crores of concurrent watchers on the streaming site.

JioCinema's previous record for concurrent viewers was 2.4 crores, which was achieved on April 17 during the CSK vs. RCB match.

While Disney Star Network is airing IPL 2023 on television, JioCinema owns the internet streaming rights to the top cricket competition.

JioCinema, which for the first time acquired the rights to the competition, has been offering free streaming of the IPL 2023 to viewers.

The company claims that the total number of videos seen has now surpassed 1300 crores, setting a new record. The average streaming duration for a match per viewer has surpassed 60 minutes, it was also reported.

JioCinema has been successful in securing 26 high-profile sponsors.

Last week, Disney Star Network reported a 2.1 crore increase in viewers for the tournament's sixth week. The network also said that during seven matches last week, concurrent viewership exceeded 3 crores.

JioCinema has been attempting to increase its visibility in the streaming market. The streaming service just added the HBO programme library, which included titles including Succession, Last of Us, and House of Dragons, among others.

JioCinema has been working to increase the number of users to its platform, but Disney+ Hotstar is losing them as a result of rumours claiming that the service saw almost 4 million members cancel their contracts. The HBO arrangement for the service to deliver its series to India was not renewed when the service lost the digital rights to the IPL.
