<p>Ankita Lokhande, a television actress best known for portraying Archana in Pavitra Rishta, most recently competed in Bigg Boss 17. She is now preparing for her next movie, Swatantra Veer Savarkar, in which she will co-star with Randeep Hooda.</p>

<p>The film, which will premiere in cinemas on March 22, 2024, is Ankita’s first undertaking since her time on Bigg Boss 17. In the film, Hooda plays Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, while Ankita plays Savarkar’s wife, Yamunabai Savarkar. Ankita said that Randeep had originally considered her too “pretty” for the character and had not wanted to put her in the movie at the Marathi trailer premiere for Swatantra Veer Savarkar.</p>
<p>She said, “He told me, ‘I don’t think I want you in the film,’” in Marathi. Why, I wondered. “You are too pretty for the character,” he said, referring to Yamanabai Savarkar. I begged you not to say that.”</p>
<p>She went on to say that Randeep had done a lot of study and understood exactly what he wanted from the movie, saying, “He was well aware of Yamanabai Savarkar’s character. She was the prosperous lady who supported Veer Savarkar, the prosperous guy.</p>
<p>In his film, Randeep plays Veer Savarkar, who battles both the British Raj and Mahatma Gandhi’s ideas. The trailer also features notable revolutionaries and politicians including Madanlal Dhingra, Bhagat Singh, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, and Bal Gangadhar Tilak.</p>
<p>Chandra Kumar Bose, Netaji’s grandnephew, responded to the teaser last week and requested that the filmmakers not associate Savarkar’s name with Subhash Chandra Bose. Chandra Kumar Bose commented, “@RandeepHooda – appreciate your making a film on ‘Savarkar,’ but its important to project the true personality!” after tagging Randeep Hooda in a news story on X (previously Twitter). Please don’t associate Savarkar with “Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose.” Netaji was a secular leader who was inclusive and a patriot among nationalists.”</p>
